A traditional English pub right in the heart of the historical city of Cambridge.
Beautifully refurbished inside and out, The Anchor is the best place to relax, chat, enjoy a pint of fine real ale, try a traditional English Sunday roast and watch the punts float by on the river Cam from our riverfront terrace.
Try the Riverside Bar which offers stunning views of the River Cam, historic Darwin College and the Mill Pond. the Riverside Bar, on the lower floor leads out onto our Riverside drinking area; the best place in town to relax and enjoy life, Cambridge style!
We are open from 11am every morning (12 noon on Sundays). We do open 1 hour earlier from Easter onwards, if you are looking to make an early visit please phone in advance just to be sure. Both bars offer a good range of cask ales; Old Speckled Hen, Greene King IPA and Abbot Ale are firm favourites. We also offer a seasonal guest ale .(see link). plus continental lagers such as Staropramen and Leffe Blond. Food is served all day, hearty traditional fayre such as steak and ale pie , fish and chips and for the more health conscious amongst us we also offer ploughman’s lunches and salads. Homemade soups are a speciality! Sunday lunch always proves extremely popular so be early to avoid disappointment.
